Speech Review & Redline

Get the kind of feedback coaching
a great speech needs.

Upload your speech. A TalkMaze communication coach reads it the way an audience will hear it and returns a Microsoft Word file with Track Changes edits, inline coaching comments, and a written summary of what to rehearse next.

Returned by a TalkMaze coach in as little as 24 hours. Standard, Priority, and Rush turnarounds. Secure upload, encrypted at rest, never shared.

An actual edit

This is what a review looks like in your inbox.

You open the Word file. Every change is tracked. Every change is explained. Strikethroughs show what to cut. Coral text shows what to try instead. Margin comments tell you why.

Accept the suggestions you like. Reject the ones you don't. You stay the author. The speech stays in your voice.

Thank you all for being here tonight. I want to talk to you about a really important issue. When I was nine, my grandfather handed me a clock and told me to break it. He had a reason.

Coach · comment

The thank-you warms up before the speech starts. Lead with the image. You can thank the audience at the close, where it lands as gratitude instead of throat-clearing.

He was a watchmaker. His shop smelled like brass polish and Earl Grey, and the bell on the door rang twice if you opened it too fast. In today's fast-paced world, we're always rushing through life.

Coach · comment

The smell and the bell give the audience something to picture. “Fast-paced world” could appear in anyone's speech. Cut.

He held the clock out. “If you want to fix something one day,” he said, “you need to know it from the inside.” “you have to learn how it works first.”

What a coach catches

Five moments. They show up in almost every draft.

  1. 01

The opening that hasn’t earned attention yet.

Most first drafts warm up before they start. A coach cuts the throat-clearing and shows you where the speech actually begins. It’s usually further down than you realized.

  2. 02

The story that needs one more concrete detail.

A coach flags the moments that need a specific sensory image, a piece of dialogue, or a clock to anchor the listener. Small change, big effect on the room.

  3. 03

The transition that hides a logic gap.

“And another thing,” “also,” “moving on.” A coach asks how the two sections actually relate. Once that’s answered, the transition writes itself.

  4. 04

The line that sounds like every other speech.

“Communication is more important than ever.” “In today’s fast-paced world.” A coach catches the generic sentence and pushes you toward a line only you could have written.

  5. 05

    The close that fades.

A great close gives the audience one image, one challenge, or one line they’ll repeat in their head on the way home. A coach is reading for that line.

Questions

Answers before you ask.

Will you rewrite my speech?

No. Your voice is the point. Your coach suggests edits, asks questions, and proposes alternatives, but every accept or reject decision is yours. You stay the author.

Do you use Microsoft Word Track Changes?

Yes. Edits are returned as a .docx with full Track Changes and inline comments. You can accept or reject every change individually.

Can I submit AI-generated drafts?

Yes, when AI use is allowed within the scope of your speech. Many of our submissions start as a Claude or ChatGPT outline, and your coach will redirect anything that reads as generic so the final version sounds unmistakably like you. If your school, competition, or employer has rules about AI use, please follow them. We do not assist with academic dishonesty or with passing AI work off as original where it would violate the rules of the opportunity you're preparing for.

What file formats do you accept?

.docx, .pdf, and .txt files up to 20 MB. You can also paste your speech directly into the submission box.

How long does it take?

Standard returns in 7 business days. Priority is back within 48 hours. Rush is in your inbox within 24 hours of submission.

Can I submit speeches longer than 2,000 words?

Yes. Speeches up to 4,000 words are priced automatically at $20 per additional 500 words. Longer than that, email hello@talkmaze.com for a custom quote.

Will my speech remain confidential?

Always. Your submission is stored in encrypted private storage, accessed only by the coach reviewing it, and never shared, posted, or used to train any model.
