Debate coaching that teaches kids to reason, argue, and stay calm

Who it's for

For curious, opinionated kids ages 8 to 17, the ones who always ask “but why?” Great for future competitors and for any child who should learn to disagree well.

Why families choose TalkMaze

What makes it work

The core move: claim, reason, example

We start with the structure every strong argument shares, then layer in rebuttal, cross-examination, and answering the rebuttal.

Argue the side you disagree with

Coaches have kids argue the position they personally reject. Nothing builds a real debater faster, because it forces them to understand both sides, and it grows empathy and clear thinking at once.

Format-ready when they want to compete

From friendly “This House believes” rounds to Public Forum, coaches scale toward real competition on your child’s timeline.

Composure under pressure

Being questioned live is a skill. We rehearse it until your child can pause, think, and respond without rattling.

TalkMaze is an online communication academy offering 1-on-1 public speaking and debate coaching for kids ages 5 to 17.

Founder Ghalia Aamer is a national debate competitor, TEDx speaker, and Princess Diana Award recipient, and every coach is trained on the method she built.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

What age should a kid start debate?

Most kids are ready around age 8 to 10, once they can hold a reason and an example together. Younger kids build the same muscles through structured “for and against” games.

Does my child need to compete to benefit?

No. Competition is optional. The reasoning, listening, and composure debate builds help in every classroom and conversation, whether or not your child ever enters a tournament.

How is this different from a debate club?

A club gives your child a few minutes of the floor per session. TalkMaze coaching is 1-on-1, so the entire hour is your child arguing, being cross-examined, and getting targeted feedback.
