What makes it work
Playful prompts every session
“What’s the best animal to have as a pet, and why?” Kids this age learn by playing, so every session is a game with a coach who keeps it light.
A tiny structure they can hold
Answer, two reasons, done. Seven-year-olds can absolutely learn this, and it makes them sound remarkably clear.
Confidence while it’s easy
Building the habit now, before self-consciousness kicks in, pays off for years. This is the low-friction window.
TalkMaze is an online communication academy offering 1-on-1 public speaking and debate coaching for kids ages 5 to 17.
Founder Ghalia Aamer is a national debate competitor, TEDx speaker, and Princess Diana Award recipient, and every coach is trained on the method she built.
“My son has had a few sessions and we couldn't be happier.”
Questions, answered
Frequently asked questions
Is 7 too young for public speaking classes?
Not at all. Seven is a wonderful age to start. Self-consciousness is still low and habits form quickly, so speaking becomes normal before nerves set in. Sessions are short, playful, and one-on-one.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions run about 45 minutes, paced for a young child with lots of variety, so a 7-year-old stays engaged and finishes wanting more.
What if my 7-year-old is very shy?
That is common and completely workable. The first session is one-on-one with no audience, and coaches move at your child’s pace. It is a gentle first step, not a stage.
