Q: Why did you decide to join debating/public speaking?
A: I like competing and I think good persuasive speech is a very underrated skill.
Q: What has been your favorite part of debate/public speaking so far?
A: Travelling for tournaments and meeting people from all around the world!
Q: How do you feel that your debate/public speaking skills will help you in the future?
A: I can think on my feet, I am fairly persuasive, and I get my point across better than most people especially in confrontations or high-stress situations.
Q: Do you have any advice for students who are hesitant to join debate or public speaking? Why should they consider debating/public speaking?
A: DO IT! You should do it because you have nothing to lose. Even if you aren't competitive you will learn so many skills that are very applicable in every day life that you would not pick up otherwise. It also looks great on a resume!!
