CollegeBoards near monopoly on education should be challenged

The CollegeBoard owns a near monopoly on education in the United States. They run all AP testing, and unless you take the ACT you pretty much have to take the SAT to apply to colleges. This is starting to change, yet Collegeboard still controls almost the entire countries ciriculum through its AP exams/courses as most schools mirror the AP circiculm with there own. They have no competition in terms of the dual-credit universal AP courses that many students feel they must take in order to save money in college courses. Should we try and get rid of this monopoly on education?
